So it is good to hear that testing numbers are still very high. In fact, the numbers have held pretty steady from last year, with a few variations to give us higher or lower responses for specific tests, but no large changes.
Areas that saw increased testing include evaluating backgrounds on prints (more people are doing it throughout the full life cycle as well), testing of text quality and testing of package integrity.
Following a trend seen in previous years, fewer people are using outside testing services for any of their tests — down to 5 percent this year from 10 percent last year and 15 percent the year before. So not surprisingly, there is an increase in the number of people saying they test page yield and toner usage using in-house testing methods.
