The Australasian association for remanufacturers has for years discussed at each Annual General Meeting ways and means of achieving a quality standard that members could, or perhaps should, qualify for. Members have supported introducing quality standards at each AGM, yet the Executive Committee has yet to succeed in introducing a confirmed system for acceptance by the membership, other than recommending the STMC method for those able to afford to institute it.
As we travel down the superhighway of globalization, for many small independent remanufacturers the struggle to survive is becoming more difficult. So what is the upside? Take pride in the fact that the skill base you have developed within your own business is still very substantial.
