Sir Speedy to Use Kodak's Digital Color Press

April 18, 2007
Kodak and Franchise Services, Inc. (FSI), announce a pricing agreement on the new KODAK NEXPRESS M700 Digital Color Press for Sir Speedy and PIP Printing centers in the United States.

FSI, corporate franchisor for Sir Speedy and PIP, will communicate the features and uses of the M700 to franchisees of Sir Speedy and PIP through a series of communications activities. The agreement takes effect today.

“The M700 fits remarkably well with the needs of quick printers seeking to grow their revenue opportunities by providing improved digital color printing or expanding their current offerings,” said Tina Stelzer, Director of Strategic Development, FSI. “In evaluating the M700, we found its print quality, price point, operator replaceable components, and upgrade path into larger production models made it a good fit for our franchisees who want to minimize risks and maximize investments in digital technology.”

The M700 and other digital presses on the KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Color Platform are built on an unparalleled operator replaceable component (ORC) architecture that provides quality, cost and uptime control. ORCs can be easily replaced by operators, eliminating downtime due to service calls and helping optimize the bottom line.

The NEXPRESS M700 digital color press serves as a mid level digital press for customers seeking to grow monthly page volume with short run color, web to print and variable data printing capabilities. Applications include direct mail, collateral, photos books and business documents.

“This agreement represents the latest way that Kodak works to provide Sir Speedy and PIP with the right technology, solutions and expertise to meet the unique needs of each location,” said Jeff Hayzlett, Chief Marketing Officer, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “We appreciate FSI’s confidence in the M700 and look forward to helping franchisees grow their digital print business with confidence.”

FSI plans to communicate features of the M700 to Sir Speedy and PIP franchisees through e-mail communications, newsletters and consultative one on one meetings.

The M700 received the Best of Show Award at the ON DEMAND Conference & Exposition in the Process Color Digital Printing Equipment category.
