New SOHO Units from Lanier

July 14, 2006

Lanier announced four low-volume systems designed and priced for small office/home office and small workgroup users. The Lanier BP20 and BP20N are both monochrome laser printers. The AC122 is a monochrome digital MFP with color scanning. The AC031cn is a digital MFP with both monochrome and full-color capabilities. All four systems will be available immediately.

“Reliable, high-quality desktop systems are vital to maintaining high productivity in most organizations,” said Dominic Pontrelli, vice president of Marketing for Lanier. “These systems are excellent for personal use in an executive suite, a small office or home office, or a small workgroup within a larger corporate environment.

“Depending on the customer’s needs, these four systems deliver an extremely wide range of lowvolume capabilities for a very affordable price. They combine the simplicity and convenience of desktop systems with the durability and advanced features end-users expect from more expensive devices. Whether you need fast laser printing, all-in-one multifunction performance, or a superior blend of color and monochrome functionality, these four systems offer best-in-class performance.”

The Lanier BP20 and BP20N are both monochrome laser printers that deliver up to 22 pages per minute, with resolution up to 1200 dpi. The BP20 features USB 2.0 and parallel interfaces for direct connectivity, while the BP20N also offers an Ethernet interface for network applications. Both enable low-cost laser printing with long-lasting supplies, a very low cost-per-page, and a duty cycle of 30,000 pages per month — which is unprecedented for low-volume, desktop systems.

The Lanier AC122 is a digital MFP that delivers up to 22 copies or prints per minute with resolution up to 600 dpi. It also offers full-color scanning for additional productivity, as well as a 33.6 kbps fax modem and 2.5-seconds-per-page transmission speed.

Potential applications for the AC122 include retail stores and kiosks, as well as real estate and insurance offices, and small corporate workgroups that require a dedicated, all-in-one system that also attaches to the local network. The AC122 offers built-in Ethernet connectivity, plus an additional specialized USB 2.0 port that accepts USB flash drives for scanning and printing.

The Lanier AC031cn features an innovative, printer-based engine that gives this digital MFP the speed and image quality of a desktop laser printer in addition to complete, full-color multifunctionality. It prints up to 31 monochrome or 8 full-color pages per minute, up to 600 dpi. The AC031cn also copies up to 21 monochrome or 7 full-color pages per minute, up to 600 dpi.

Users can also choose the AC031cn for built-in TWAIN scanning, up to 21 monochrome or 7 fullcolor originals per minute, up to 1200 x 2400 dpi. The system also offers the OmniPage OCR utility for editing scanned files. Finally, the AC031cn features a 33.6 kbps fax modem and 3-seconds-perpage transmission speed.

“These four systems pack incredible functionality and quality into very small, very convenient desktop footprints,” Pontrelli said. “They also offer low total cost of ownership. That means endusers can acquire these systems more easily, and they will experience continued long-term cost savings. In today’s cost-driven marketplace, this is a very powerful combination of advantages.”
