Remanufacturers not touting the industry’s environmental benefits will be interested to know that two leading printer manufacturers are promoting their own recycling efforts in front of more than 100,000 people this week.
Ricoh Corp. and Canon USA are both participating in the environmental TechZone at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Jan. 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Energy Efficiency and Electronics Recycling TechZone is a designated area at CES sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency that promotes companies that have “products that save energy, protect the environment and address the productive use of used electronics equipment,” according to the tradeshow’s promotional materials.
Ricoh and Canon are two of a dozen companies participating in the TechZone at CES which includes manufacturers that produce or sell energy efficient audio/video products, computers and chips, companies that recycle products such as computers, televisions and mobile phones, electronics collections agencies and energy and recycling industry groups.
