Complete with a starter Return Program print cartridge, Lexmark recently added a low-cost, high-speed monochrome laser printer to its product lineup. The E220, touted by Lexmark as having the fastest rated print speed for a laser printer under $200, ships with a 1,500-page starter Return Program print cartridge. A new replacement print cartridge for the E220 is priced at $99, while a Return Program cartridge is $79 on the Lexmark Web site. Replacement cartridges for the E220 have a 2,500-page yield based on 5 percent page coverage.
Targeting home-office users and small- and medium-sized businesses, the new printer is nearly twice as fast as the leading brand’s competitive product - up to 18 pages per minute (versus 10 ppm) - and delivers a faster time to first print at 9.5 seconds, according to the company. The Lexmark E220 print cartridges are compatible with Lexmark E321 and 323 printers, however the E321/323 print cartridges are not compatible with E220 printers.
