August 10, 2001
On Wednesday, 101communications LLP, Chatsworth, Calif., parent company of Recharger Magazine and World Expo and The Business Technology Association (BTA) formed an alliance.

101communications is assuming the management of the association’s magazine and annual conference. BTA Solutions magazine and the Copier Marketplace, 101’s entry into the copier field, will merge into a new publication titled Office Technology. The first issue will publish in September.

The first 101-produced BTA conference is scheduled for June 2002 in Las Vegas. BTA will develop the educational seminars for the conference.

"We are proud of the services we provide to the remanu- facturing industry with Recharger Magazine and World Expo," said Jeffrey S. Klein, president of 101communications. "Our alliance with BTA will allow us to duplicate those services to the office document industry."

BTA Executive Director Angela Williams said the alliance with 101communications allows the association to serve its members and the industry better. "101’s expertise in producing trade shows and business publications, combined with BTA’s educational and informational resources, make this an ideal alliance," she said. "Manufacturers and dealers will find that by bringing the magazine and the BTA trade show to a new level, the entire industry will benefit.

"With the inaugural issue in September, Office Technology will quickly emerge as the leading source of information in the business equipment and solutions industry," she continued. "Our goal will be to provide insightful, hard- hitting articles that objectively report on the technologies, trends and selling strategies that are shaping the market- place served by the independent dealer."
